STOP!!! And check her out. She is hard to beat. She Rides and drives, is safe both ways, and is a pleasure to work with. Watch her full video, read her full description, and call if you have any more questions. Fritz P’s Patty is her full registered name, but I call her Patsy Cline like the singer. She stands at 16.1 hands tall, and I believe she’s still growing a little her butt is about 2” higher than her withers. She is 3/4 Friesian and 1/4 Morgan. Coming 6 years old in May. She is absolutely traffic-safe and doesn’t mind heavy traffic, semis, or heavy machinery. She’s had cars go by with a dog hanging out the window barking at her, semis that honked or let their air brakes off next to her, and she’s even been driven right by a demolition site with all the banging and clanging while being passed by multiple cars in heavy traffic and school buses as well. She is very traffic savvy, either in harness or under saddle. She’ll cross any water; she loves the water. She will trot right in and loves to start splashing right away. She trots through mud puddles instead of going around them. If she weren’t a horse, she would be a fish. She’ll cross bridges and logs. She’ll climb those high banks and hills no problem because she has some power; she can take it without breaking a sweat. She knows how to go down steep hills nicely and efficiently as well. She’s friendly and will follow me around, so she’s usually pretty easy to catch. She has a smooth canter and a smooth, easy to post to trot. She’ll do a slow or an extended trot. She doesn’t mind riding with a dog, as seen in the video, and doesn’t mind wildlife. She stands excellent for the Ferrier. Right now, she has driving shoes on, but she can go barefoot. She stands still for tacking and mounting. I’ve been teaching her to put her head down for bridling because she’s so tall. She knows the come-over cue for mounting off a mounting block. She’s been roped with lightly, so she has an idea of ranch work, but she’s mainly used as a trail/driving horse. She has been hobbled a few times as well. And she’s been used to pony other horses. She works out nice if you have a stubborn horse; she’ll hold them without getting flustered, and because of her size, they give in quickly and learn to stay with her. She’s had the rope wrapped around her hind end a few times and never got worked up about it. She is gorgeous to boot. She has a lovely thick mane and tail that are naturally wavy, and she has a natural tendency to keep her head tucked up pretty. She has the beautiful Friesian movement, likes to pick her feet up high in the front. And she is pure muscle. She will get a little bulkier once she’s done growing. She has nice, thick bones with big, solid feet. She is a prime age not too old to learn new tricks yet not too young and stupid. She already has a lot of experience for her age, and she is very smart; she has the Morgan mindset. It doesn’t take long to teach her something new; she has a willingness-to-please attitude. So, use her as a driving or trail horse or expand her knowledge into other fields she’s ready and willing I could see her going into jumping or dressage she would look good under English tack, and she has the movements. She gets along with other horses, mares, or geldings; she’s in the middle of the pecking order. She loads right up in the trailer, hauls fine, and backs right out. She has NO bad habits or vices. She has NEVER offered to do anything crazy. She does know her leg cues to move off of your leg, and she side-passes a little. For driving, she stands well for hitching/unhitching, signs/stop lights, and getting on/off the cart. She knows the words whoa, easy, walk on, trot, and kiss if you want a little canter in the cart. She turns nice and will side-pass over for tight turns. I drive her in a snaffle with a semi-loose rein, so she’s easy to control as long as you know what you are doing. She’s been driven in some heavy traffic with lots of big trucks, as you’ll see in the video. She was started under harness around 2 years old and started the right way and has been driving consistently ever since, so lots of driving miles. She has much power and can pull a bigger cart than the one in the video. And she’s very respectful and controllable under harness. She has a been there, done that attitude.
